The Coviñas Group is in celebration mode. This week it has been awarded the DWM Wine Trophy as the Best Cooperative Winery in the World by the German company that organises the most important wine competitions worldwide, including the Berliner Wein Trophy, Portugal Wein Trophy and Asia Wein Trophy.
It is an extraordinarily important award, the Olympic Games of wine, where the top and most garlanded wineries compete against each other to be chosen as the best: https: Click here.
There is no doubt that this award is a recognition of the territory and place of origin of our product, the work of the more than 3,000 member families and the more than 50 employees who, with their daily work, contribute to creating the best and truest wines of the territory to which they belong, as well as giving life and continuity to the essence of a region linked to wine since the mists of time.
As such, Coviñas joins the League of the world’s most important producers – the GOLDEN LEAGUE 2022. The League of Wine Champions – giving worldwide visibility to its core values, as an example of regional coherence and structure.
It should be remembered that the DWM is an independent association which, after countless blind tastings in different countries carried out by a range of professional wine experts, endorsed by the International Wine and Vine Organisation (OIV), the International Union of Oenologists and the International World Federation of Wine Competitions, has concluded that Coviñas is the Best Wine-Producing Cooperative in the World that has more than 500 hectares of land under vine.
In the words of the Chairman, Jose Miguel Medina, “receiving this award is an honour for the entire Coviñas Group, one that reflects the efforts of many people to make our territory a wine hub and is an example of how caring for nature and the people close to it helps to reap the best rewards. I raise a glass to every one of the families who make it possible and may this be the first of many”.
