The Coviñas Group will travel to Japan from 8 to 11 March to take part in the most important international trade fair in the agri-food sector, Foodex. Coviñas will share a stand with 7 other wineries from the Utiel-Requena Designation of Origin, and has chosen for the occasion its most exclusive limited edition Bobal, ADNOS Bobal Alta Expresión.
This prestige 100% Bobal red wine is made with a selection of the best grapes from the “El Matorral” and “El Rubial” vineyard plots, where 5.5 hectares of old vines still stand.
The vines, which are subjected to extreme stress viticulture, produce barely 2 kgs of grapes each. This is the reason for this being a limited edition wine, which, after careful traditional winemaking and 24 months of ageing in French and American oak, acquires a structure and personality that guarantee its longevity.

For four days, this important international food and beverage event will be the leading showcase for the promotion of the wines of the Utiel-Requena PDO.
The tastings of the UR PDO wines will be held on 9 March at 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm and will last one hour each. The Coviñas tasting will be with ADNOS Bobal, so this native variety will be spearheading the area’s wines.
The tasting, with the participation of 20 wine and press professionals to ensure that the event has a high profile and receives wide coverage, will be led by the ambassador for UR PDO wines in Japan, Mr Takayuki Kikuchi, and the DO’s consultant for the Asian market and wine expert, Ms Yoshiko Akehi, will also be in attendance.
